Literature Text

Five years. Five agonizing years have passed.

Death-Howl watched the mindless undead lurch about the place. Being away from Arthas made him some-what normal. "If only you knew that you are just pawns." The worgen growled, rising to his hind legs. The lupine walked around as a man, sniffing his surroundings and growling at the lower rank death knights. Cannon-fodder he called them.
Glaecia left them a few weeks back to return home. Death-Howl didn't know his his friend was okay, or even alive for that matter. He still had Liyara. The woman he was lusting madly for.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Liyara walked out of a tent with her long, raven-colored hair tied back in a loose ponytail.
Death-Howl grinned, stepping over to her as he shrank down to his human form. His greasy black hair was pulled back in a ponytail and armor that once felt tight now loosed up (but don't think his small... Richard's still a big farm boy).
"What is it, Richard?" Liyara growled.
Richard gave a sly grin. "I just want to show you something."
"If it's your dancing runeblade that you keep in your pants... I'll crush your nuts." Liyara snarled the threat, which made Richard laugh.
"That's not what I was going to ask." He grabbed her face, smirking deviously. "Come." He lead her away from the camp.
Liyara was honestly confused. She eyed the back of Richard head.
Richard chuckled as he pulled Liyara down to sit beside him.
The human flinched under his touch. "I swear, Richard, if you're planning something I'll end you."
"Temper, temper." Richard smirked, "If I wanted to do something, I would of already done it."
Liyara growled, rolling her eyes and sighing in an annoyed fashion.
Richard turned her head so she faced him. "Liyara, I have a confession." The man sighed. "I... I think I'm in love with you." He squeezed her hand kissed her fiercely.
Liyara pulled back quickly, stunned and turning a bright scarlet. "Richard.. I... I don't feel the same."
Richard looked like someone struck him across the face. "What?"
The female death knight sighed. "I've started getting my memory back. I have a son.. and his father is the love of my life."
Richard hid his anger. "Who's the father?"
     "King Varian Wrynn... of Stormwind."
Richard recognized the name Varian instantly. As a young boy, Richard stayed in Lordaeron with his father, Gilnaen ambassador at the time. Varian and his blond-headed best friend would always belittle him and shove him around. Richard could recall several occasions where he hung off balconies for hours by his underwear.
     "Richard?" Liyara shook his arm.
The man seems to be in a trance. He stood to his feet and left, shifting into a worgen and sprinting away on all fours.

Varian yawned from his throne. His body shook as he licked his lips. Varian could easily fall back asleep, which he did.
The sound of breaking glass shook the king from his sleep. He looked around, reaching for Shalamayne. it was gone. Panicking, Varian rose to his feet.
"Hello, Varian!" a voice roared, snatching the king by the throat. The lupine aggressor snarled. "Remember me?"
Varian was too busy choking to answer.
"That's right.. you were to busy making my life a living Hell to remember scrawny little Richard!" The worgen threw the king against the wall.
Gasping for air, Varian stood to his feet only to receive a knee to the gut. "You also stole the love of my life from me!!" The worgen's howl rattled the throne room.
Varian grunted, "I.. I didn't take anything from you!"
     Death-Howl roared in anger.
     "Richard! Stop it!"
That voice. Death-Howl looked over to see a horrified Liyara in the doorway.
     "Now back away from him!!"
     "Liyara, bu-!"
"OUT!!!" Death-Howl's ears dropped and he walked out of the throne room like a whipped dog, shifting back into his human form.

Richard stared into the icy waters of Stormwind Harbor. I've got nothing to live for... The man stared at his monstrous reflection. He let out a sigh. He could honestly believe that the sea could take him and nothing or no one would miss him.
"Easy does it boys! That's the last barrel for Northerend!"
Richard looked over at the men loading cargo onto a ship as a grin curved on his lips. he stood and slipped, unnoticed, into a barrel that was lifted into the ship mere moments later. This is were Richard's new life would begin. A place where anything and everything would be new and exciting.
FRIEND-ZONED: It even happens to Richard.
